Central Square Cambridge, Ma Stand-Out-Free Heroic Russian Investigation Whistle-Blower Reality Leigh Winner

    5 PM – 6 PM Wednesday October 4, 2017

We Will Not Leave Our Sister Behind-Don’t Prosecute The Canary

Winner, a recent Air Force veteran, has been charged under the Espionage Act, a 100-year-old statute originally designed for spies and saboteurs, for allegedly giving a document vital to the public’s understanding of potential Russian interference in U.S. election systems to a news organization. She faces up ten years and a $250,000 fine. She is now scheduled for trial in Augusta, Georgia in March, 2018.

The charge against Winner is grossly disproportionate to her alleged offense, and is designed to create a chilling effect on investigative journalism by dissuading sources from sharing information that is critical to the public interest. We are dedicated to raising public awareness of Winner’s case, as well as the U.S. government’s persistent abuse of the Espionage Act to silence its critics and stifle journalism.

    Resist Deportations! Defend DACA!

Hosted by Boston May Day Coalition https://www.facebook.com/bostonmdc

Rally 1:00 PM , steps across from the Massachusetts Statehouse followed by a March to the JFK Federal Building

Defend DACA! Extend TPS! Jail Joe Arpaio! No Ban! No Wall! Defend Transgender Rights! Resist Fascism!

The government in Washington has stepped up attacks on migrants to levels not seen in years. Trump’s attacks on Muslim migrants were only the beginning. Deportations are accelerating. Trump is terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and has pardoned the racist ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio. He also threatens to shut down the government if a Mexican border wall is not built. He threatens the Temporary Protected Status program. This comes on top of his recent bigoted executive order against transgender troops in the US armed forces and his defense of Fascists in Charlottesville, NC. Millions of youth and decent hard working people are under attack! Trump and his cheerleaders in the U.S. Congress are leading a generalized assault on our lives, rights, and living conditions. The leading edge of this assault today is the stepped up attacks against migrants. An injury to one is an injury to all! Mobilize September 16!

Emergency Rally to oppose war in Korea

    (source: masspeaceaction)

Emergency Rally to oppose war in Korea
    Friday September 8 @ 5:15 pm – 6:15 pm
    Park Street Station, Boston

No Fire, No Fury – Catastrophic war is not an optionYes to Negotiations – No to Escalation

Join us to insist that the Trump administration begin direct negotiations with no preconditions in order to create the conditions that lead to a negotiated settlement based on the common security of all countries involved.

Local groups call for “direct talks with no preconditions” to stall the march toward war in Korea

War in Korea is not an option or a solution to the growing and increasingly dangerous confrontation over North Korea’s nuclear weapons program. The immediate need is to reduce the growing tension caused by the tit-for-tat responses consisting of North Korea’s dangerous weapons tests and provocative U.S. military maneuvers, including demonstration runs of U.S. nuclear bombers near North Korea and practice for de-capitation of the North Korean government.

Media accounts give a distorted picture of the confrontation by leaving out key pieces of the story, such as the fact that the U.S. has a first strike nuclear policy, while North Korea, for all its bellicosity should they be threatened with attack, has disavowed a preemptive strike against the U.S. or its allies. Also forgotten is that a comprehensive solution was negotiated way back in the Clinton Administration but the G.W. Bush Administration immediately trashed it and named North Korea a part of the “axis of evil”.

A negotiated settlement remains within reach, but it can only be reached if the Trump administration engages in direct talks with no preconditions. What’s needed is not new sanctions, but the negotiation of a Freeze for a Freeze, ending North Korea’s tests in return for an end to U.S. threats and military exercises.
