    Baltimore Solidarity Rally

    Roxbury, Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 6:00 PM
1 Schroeder Plaza, Boston, MA 02120

This message is forwarded from Mass Action Against Police Violence.

Stand in solidarity with the protesters and people of Baltimore!

The government, the media, and other naysayers would put the onus of the destruction of property and violence on the backs of the protesters when in fact what has caused this disturbance is the years and decades of brutality and neglect against the people of this region. Until the government does something to address the wanton violence and impunity by the hands of the police against the people of this region what is happening Baltimore today is inevitable.

What is happening in Baltimore could happen anywhere. Justice denied is an act of war against the population and now the people have had enough and they are standing up and fighting back. Every lover of democracy and freedom must join this call. Join us in solidarity with Baltimore in front of the Boston Police headquarters for a rally and speak out as we demand:

    • Indict the police that killed Freddie Gray now!
    • Release the jailed protesters now!
    • Drop the charges against the protesters now!
    • End the state of emergency and curfew now!

Only days left: Are you IN?

    (from #WageAction)

Only days left before we make history.

On April 14, we will be standing up, speaking out and fighting for fair pay at the MASSIVE rally RIGHT HERE in Boston, Massachusetts and around the globe for the Fight for $15.

    Stand with us.

If you believe that every parent who works hard for a living should make enough money to feed his or her kids – then stand with us.

If you believe that a person who works for a company for 5 years – every single day in a hot kitchen – and still makes $8.25 an hour, deserves a raise – then stand with us.

If you believe that it is TIME for companies that make record profits to give back to communities that support them by paying their employees enough to live – then stand with us.

We’ll be standing with the Fight for $15 on April 14. Will you?

Sign up now to join the Fight for $15 rally right here in Massachusetts on April 14. Stand with the fast food workers fighting for $15 an hour and union rights.

We’re inspired by the victories: a $15 wage in Seattle and San Francisco, a $12.25 wage in Oakland – and cities from New York to Chicago to LA clamoring to push theirs even higher.

Right here in Mass., workers in Everett, Lynn, and South Boston have demanded $15/hour start rates from their employers – and WON. We’ve also increased the state minimum wage and won earned sick time, but workers and families will continue to suffer until corporations pay employees enough to support their families.

So, we’ll be standing up and speaking out on April 14. Will you be there with us?

    Let’s win this thing.

    Thanks,

    The #WageAction Coalition

P.S. — Here are some of the key details for the historic April 14th action in Massachusetts:

On Tuesday, April 14th, we’ll rally and march beginning at Forsyth Park (intersection of Hemenway St. & Forsyth Way) in Boston, MA at 4:00 p.m. By public transportation, Forsyth Park is conveniently located near the Ruggles and Northeastern MBTA stops.

If you need transportation to and from the rally, you can click here to reserve your seat on one of the buses coming from Amherst, Brockton, Chelsea, Chicopee, Fall River, Lowell, Lynn, New Bedford, Somerville, Springfield, Waltham, or Worcester.
