Peace Action Sat. 10/6. Honkfest Sun. 10/7

There are two really big events happening this weekend, and we’re hoping to see YOU there.

On Saturday, there’s a peace rally happening at 1:30pm at Park Street. This event is being organized by the United National Antiwar Coalition, United for Justice with Peace, the International Action Center, Veterans for Peace, and many other groups. This is a great opportunity to take a stand against war, against Islamaphobia, and against repression. Occupy Boston will gather at the base of Boston Common at Soldiers and Sailors Monument Hill at 1pm, and head over to the rally shortly before 1:30. Bring a sign, bring a banner, and come march with us!

For all you Villens out there, Somerville’s Honkfest parade is happening on Sunday (10/7), and Occupy Boston is marching with the bands. We’ll gather at 11:00 am Sunday, in the parking lots behind the CVS in Davis Square. Bring bandannas! Honkfest is a major festivity; if you’ve never been to Honkfest before, then you owe it to yourself to check out the parade, and the other activities happening in Somerville.

Finally, and after a long hiatus, Occupy Boston Community Gatherings are back! We’re having one on Monday Oct 8th, from 6-9:00pm in Copley Square. We’ll have food, a potluck, and a debrief of S17 (the first anniversary of Occupy Wall Street) and S30 (the first anniversary of Occupy Boston).

Note: the location of the Oct 8th Community Gathering was previously listed as Community Church of Boston; we had to make a last-minute venue change, so we’re taking the event outside, across the street.

Solidarity!
